Welcome to the 2023 swim season!! The past few days have been having us all in a summer state of mind. Thank you to everyone who came out to join us at Wednesday night's meeting. If you were unable to attend, here is a summary of what we discussed.

Pool Updates

• During the off-season our pool has had a major facelift. The tile around the pool has been replaced again (and is no longer slippery!). The tile at the bottom of the baby pool has been replaced as well.
  • There are plans in the works for re-tiling the "baby island" part of the pool soon.
  • The black lane line tiles have been replaced with a dark blue
  • Plaster has all been replaced throughout the pool surface
  • Our diving board and stand have been replaced and updated in keeping with safety requirements. We have a temporary board at the moment, while we await the arrival of our permanent replacement later this season 
  • The pool is currently full of water and will be ready to go for Memorial Day weekend!

Coaches

Our coaches will all be returning this season!  Please visit the "Coaches" tab (under the "links" tab) on our website to learn more about them.

Schedule

• Practices
  • Afternoon practices: Our practices will begin on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 30 and run Monday- Thursdays until June 12. 
    • Morning practices will begin on June 13.  
    • If your swimmer is still in school the week morning practices begin, they are excused from practice until their school year is finished.  
    • Our pool opens for regular hours on June 13, so we are unable to hold afternoon practices at that point. 
  • Please view our website for the practice times for your swimmer(s) age group(s).
• Meets
  • Green and White Practice meet
  • This is a scrimmage against our own team and will be run like a dress-rehearsal for our regular season
  • This is a perfect opportunity to learn a new volunteer role!!
  • Dual Meets will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings
    • Please plan to attend, rain or shine! We will send out an alert email if the meet is delayed or canceled due to weather. 
    • If you know your swimmer cannot attend a meet, please sign them out!
    • Coaches will assume your swimmer will attend if not signed out
    • For Tuesday meets, please sign out by Sunday night
    • For Thursday meets, please sign out by Tuesday night
    • If an illness or issue comes up after the sign out deadline, please email us right away

Volunteers

We cannot run a meet without the required number of volunteers.  Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, all are welcome to help!

• Please view the meet schedule on our website to volunteer for a meet.
  • Please do not be intimidated, we will train you!
• We also have several opportunities for season-long volunteer commitments
  • Snack Manager- responsible for purchasing and maintaining stock for our snack tent.  They will also need to store and transport the snacks to each home meet
  • Future Parent Board members- willing to help the next few seasons and plan to take over the responsibilities as the current parent board members' children age out of the team

Uniforms/ Merchandise

The league requires our team to come to meets wearing the same suit.  We have several options for purchasing suits this year.  

• Suit swap- Please visit the "Suit Swap" tab (under the "Links" tab) of our website to view our current inventory of gently used suits.  
• If you would like a new suit, they can be purchased under the "links" tab as well.
• Spirit Wear and merchandise can also be found on the "Links" page.
• Caps- all girls are required to wear swim caps for meets.  Boys may wear them as well.  The league rules state that they must be branded team caps.  This rule has not been enforced in the past, but we anticipate it could be this season.
  • Caps need to be purchased directly from Tisha Husbands during a game or a practice.  The cost is $20, and will be billed to your account.  A parent must sign for any cap purchase this year.

Registration

Only families registered for the 2023 swim season will receive team communications.  Please spread the word to any friends interested in joining us this year, the only way to be added to our email distribution list is to register a swimmer.  There is no obligation or commitment.  If a family decides the sport doesn't work for them or their schedule, they can email us and we will delete their registration before we send the list to billing.
